Mission Statement
The mission of the Collins Family Foundation is to provide leadership in humanity’s efforts to live sustainably on Earth. The Foundation organizes retreats and conferences, financially supports non-profit organizations dedicated to sustainability, and publishes books and articles.
Support of Nonprofits
The Foundation contributes to several organizations that are working to promote awareness of the intricate interdependence between humanity and nature with its finite resources. These organizations are using a variety of innovative approaches to put the human species on a path that is in harmony with the natural environment. The Bainbridge Graduate Institute, Land Institute, Positive Futures Network, and Worldwatch Institute are examples.
Retreats and Conferences
The Foundation organizes retreats and conferences aimed at better integration of environmental and social concerns in the disciplines of finance, engineering and production operations, e.g., how companies can increase their sustainable practices and profits simultaneously. Partners include the San Francisco based Global Futures Foundation, which works to integrate the interests of business and environment; and the Seattle based Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability, which serves as a catalyst for business practices that enrich the quality of life for present and future generations.
Publishing
Through its Collins Family Foundation Press division (www.collinsfoundationpress.com), the Foundation publishes books and articles that offer innovative prescriptions for helping humanity bring its institutions into an equitable balance with nature, and function sustainably within the limitations of our planet’s natural resources.
